Former Postdoctoral Researcher
amcalvo@princeton.edu
Alejandro Martínez-Calvo worked in the lab as a HFSP/PCTS postdoctoral fellow, and then continued at Princeton as a postdoctoral fellow after the lab moved to the west coast. He obtained his PhD in Fluid Dynamics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, where he studied the dynamics of interfacial flows of complex fluids. Currently, he is interested in several research areas within the context of biological physics and living matter, namely the dynamics of eukaryotic cells and tissues, and the physics of bacteria in complex habitats.
Alejandro was born & raised in Madrid, while spending joyful summers in his mother’s hometown in the wine growing region of Ribera del Duero. He loves traveling, watching movies, TV (especially The Office or The Sopranos), and Real Madrid soccer games. He also loves lifting weights at the gym and then recovering the burned calories tasting new menus in fancy restaurants.
