Meera Ramaswamy
Former Postdoctoral Researcher
mr4540@princeton.edu

Meera Ramaswamy (she/her) worked in the lab as a PCCM postdoctoral fellow. She did her undergraduate studies in Engineering Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) and her PhD in Physics at Cornell University. During her PhD she studied the rheology and microstructure of shear thickening fluids (the physics behind people walking on cornstarch and water!). She is interested in understanding the influence of fluid flow on bacterial motion in complex environments. After leaving the lab, Meera moved on to a position as an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota.

Outside the lab, Meera enjoys reading, Bharatanatyam (a classical Indian dance form), hiking, swimming, and solving sudokus. She started baking during the pandemic and now enjoys trying recipes that require a high degree of precision but also have a high failure rate.
