Pablo Bravo is a postdoctoral researcher in the lab. He studied physics in PUC Chile, after which he obtained his PhD in Quantitative Biosciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology with Peter Yunker. His focus was in using interferometry to characterize how bacterial colonies grow away from surfaces, and how they can use their structure to collectively resist stresses. In the lab, he is working on how wetting and drying processes change microbial dynamics in soil, and how these in turn, modify the carbon cycle.
Outside the lab, Pablo enjoys playing board games, cooking, reading, and riding his bike in search of new coffee shops. Rumor has it he will never refuse the opportunity to grab a cup of coffee/tea in the sun to share stories and jokes!
