Tanumoy Dhar is a postdoctoral researcher in the lab. He received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and JNCASR Bangalore, India. He earned his PhD from the University of California, San Diego, where he studied particle interactions between active and passive systems. Currently, he is interested in several research areas within the realm of biological physics, namely microbial growth and transport in complex environments.

Tanumoy is originally from Bardhaman, in the state of West Bengal, India. He enjoys watching movies and cooking a variety of cuisines. He also loves nearly any activity involving the ocean, surfing, snorkeling, and reminiscing about his days in La Jolla.
