Julesy Baker (she/her) is a PhD student in Chemical Engineering. She completed her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester in 2025. As an undergraduate, she worked with Professor David Foster studying the behavior of non-Newtonian, shear-thinning fluids in the transition mixing regime. Julesy’s current research focuses on leveraging elastic instabilities for enhanced interfacial transport through surface boundary layers.
Outside of science, Julesy enjoys swimming, hiking (especially coastal cliffs!), gardening, hanging out with her evil cat, and befriending the campus squirrels (also sometimes evil).
